Sally Papich is a versatile artist with impeccable credentials. She has won numerous art awards starting in High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She was awarded an Art Scholarship to Rockford College in Illinois. Sally has studied at Drake University and Arkansas State University and under many talented and gifted artists including Ann Templeton, Milford Zornes, Tony Couch, Ken Hosmer, Sandee Sander, Judi Betts, Charles Gruppe, and Alex Powers.
Sally has had many solo shows including Little Rock, Jonesboro, Rogers, and Texarkana in Arkansas and in Collierville, TN. Other showings have included Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, and Greece.
Working in all medium, Sally considers herself primarily an oil painter. Her works have been included and received awards in numerous regional and local exhibitions. As plein air painter, she has traveled to many different countries, including Spain, Portugal, Italy, Guatemala, Ireland and Greece to paint.
She is a member of Northeast Arkansas Visual Art League, Arkansas League of Artist, Mid-Southern Watercolorists, and Memphis/Germantown Art League and is on the Arkansas Art Registry.
Painting is pure joy to me. I am still searching for my identity as an artist and feel that much of the fun is in the hunt. Painting is an expression of ones' soul.
